Marathon
Statement on Microsoft Service Pack 1
Microsoft has recently released Windows Server 2003 Service
Pack 1 (SP1).
SP1 is a
major release from Microsoft that goes well beyond the scope of
the typical update to include significant
security enhancements as well as reliability and performance
improvements.
To meet our customers’ desire to deploy SP1 in their
environments, Marathon is updating Marathon FTvirtual Server 6.1
to ensure that our product is fully compatible with SP1, and
continues to deliver the levels of availability and reliability
that our customers have come to rely on.
Approximately
60-90 days from the SP1 release, Marathon expects to issue an
update for our product (to Marathon FTvirtual Server 6.1.1), which
will provide complete support for SP1. We recommend that customers
do not install Microsoft’s SP1 until Marathon FTvirtual
Server 6.1.1 is released. Note that all Marathon customers who
intend to deploy SP1 in their environments will need to upgrade to
Marathon FTvirtual Server 6.1.1.
All
customers who have a valid support agreement with Marathon are
eligible to receive this update for free. When the update is
available, we will notify you with instructions on how to acquire
and install it.
